The INE will yield with the Revocation, but will continue to lay stones: monero Hernández

In an interview with Alejandro Páez, in the program Los Periodistas, which is broadcast on the YouTube channel of SinEmbargo Al Aire, the monero José Hernández indicated that despite his refusals, the INE will carry out the consultation, because in case of not doing so, people could organize to celebrate this democratic exercise, a situation that would leave the electoral body very badly.

Mexico City, December 27 (However) .- El monero Jose Hernandez assured that the National Electoral Institute (OTHER) will yield and end up consulting the Revocation of Mandate, but considered that it will endeavor to make the exercise “as badly done as possible.”

“I believe that the INE will end up folding and will end up organizing the consultation, it is a constitutional mandate and they cannot continue to be foolish either. […] They are going to continue trying to get the worst of it done and they are going to continue laying stones on all attempts at democratic participation, “he said in an interview with Alejandro Paez, in the program Journalists, which is broadcast on the YouTube channel of However On Air.

Hernández indicated that despite his refusals, the INE will carry out the Revocation of the Mandate, scheduled for April next year, because if it is not done, the people could organize to celebrate it, as President Andrés has proposed in recent days. Manuel López Obrador, a scenario that would leave the electoral body very badly.

“López Obrador has already said: ‘If the INE does not want to organize it, the people can organize it,’ and that does put them in a bind because they know that if López Obrador continues with that idea that he has already launched, he will be able to achieve that the people organize themselves and carry out the consultation on the Revocation of the Mandate and that leaves the INE very badly, “he commented.

And he added: “I believe that they will end up folding as has happened with other actors who have directly confronted the President. What happened to the federalist governors, what happened during three years with all these parties. All these characters have been giving in, they have been bending their hands all these characters. I believe that the INE is going to end up yielding ”.

Monero Hernández assured that the INE’s refusal to carry out the Mandate Revocation consultation goes against what the majority of the people want and recalled that throughout its history the Electoral Institute has shown “to be aligned with the interests of the groups that are in power ”.

“The only thing they demonstrated was that this Institute is totally aligned with the interests of the group that was in power and now that this group is not in power, in political power at least, although it is still in economic power and in many instances of power, because now it is totally confronting the notion of democracy ”.

José Hernández indicated that the INE’s refusals for carrying out this consultation go against an exercise of participatory democracy and deny society its right to decide who it wants to govern.

“We have been seeing all these weeks how they are against an exercise of participatory democracy, which has nothing to do with the current President. It does have to do with the fact that it is going to be an exercise that qualifies the current President, but it has nothing more to do with that or that it has to do only with that, but with society exercising its right to decide who it wants to govern it ”.

The Mandate Revocation consultation is a process that President López Obrador has promoted as a mechanism of direct democracy in which, in the middle of his presidency, Mexicans will be asked if they want the president to continue governing or resign. it has been criticized by the opposition, for considering it as political propaganda.

The law on the matter establishes that it is necessary that 3 percent of the electoral census distributed in 17 Mexican states be collected, either in physical format or in a mobile application of the INE.

However, the Revocation of the Mandate has also been another reason for a clash between the president and the INE, who has alleged a lack of resources to organize this exercise.

Most of the electoral advisers have argued that they cannot carry it out because Congress cut 4.913 million pesos for 2022. Meanwhile, the President has questioned the INE calling it “undemocratic.”

The refusal of the electoral authority has led Congress, led by Morena, and the Legal Counsel of the Presidency to appeal to the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), an instance that has preliminarily granted the suspension for that the electoral authority continue with the organization of this consultation with the resources it has.
